When Was the Last Time?

On December 14, 2010, in strategy and philosophy, by Dan

When was the last time you thanked a client for choosing you, and not someone else?

When was the last time you told a patient that you realize how inconceivably big a deal it is that she trusts you with her health?

When was the last time you walked a client to her car?

When was the last time that instead of just saying, “I don’t know,” you went a little further and added, “But I’ll find out, or find someone who does.”

When was the last time you apologized sincerely for keeping a client waiting? Or put your money where your mouth is and gave him a free treatment?

When was the last time you thanked a supplier or vendor from another company for going above and beyond?

The list is endless, but they’re all about one thing: not taking things for granted. When we take what we have for granted, we’re saying, “This is no longer as valuable to me as it was.”

And people can tell.

We can’t walk all of you to your car. But we can say that the gift of being able to share our ideas with you isn’t something we take for granted. Thanks for reading. And for writing, calling, and sharing. It’s been quite a year! – Dan & Tara
