When was the last time you thanked a client for choosing you, and not someone else?
When was the last time you told a patient that you realize how inconceivably big a deal it is that she trusts you with her health?
When was the last time you walked a client to her car?
When was the last time that instead of just saying, “I don’t know,” you went a little further and added, “But I’ll find out, or find someone who does.”
When was the last time you apologized sincerely for keeping a client waiting? Or put your money where your mouth is and gave him a free treatment?
When was the last time you thanked a supplier or vendor from another company for going above and beyond?
The list is endless, but they’re all about one thing: not taking things for granted. When we take what we have for granted, we’re saying, “This is no longer as valuable to me as it was.”
And people can tell.
